Four Synaptic A220 Routes to Fly First
The A220-300 is flying in the Wy'East fleet now, and we have loved every minute of it. 45 of the routes it flies didn't exist in our network before, and here are a few of our favorites!
Spokane to San Francisco
GEG-SFO is about 590 nautical miles, with gorgeous terrain as you pass from the Cascade mountain down into Northern California. Coming down the coast into SFO with the bay opening up below is one of the better approaches in the network, and it's a nice reminder that the A220 doesn't need a marathon flight to be worth flying.
Denver to Albuquerque
At roughly 305 nautical miles, DEN-ABQ is the shortest of the four. The terrain is the reason to fly it. South out of Denver, the Rockies fall away into high desert fast, and the descent into ABQ sets up against the Sandias with stunning vistas.
Philadelphia to Jackson Hole
PHL-JAC runs about 1,547 nautical miles, east coast hub straight into one of the most dramatic approaches in the Mountain West. Jackson Hole isn't a forgiving airport. The Tetons sit right off the field, and there's no easing into the descent the way you can somewhere flatter. Philadelphia flying into Jackson Hole wouldn't have made sense without the A220 making it an efficient and fun route.
Boise to Maui
BOI-OGG is the long one: about 2,477 nautical miles, and our first ETOPS route with the A220. A focus base built around mountain flying, which can also put you on a beach in Hawaii on the same aircraft, same day.
