Today we’re excited to roll out Wy’East Virtual Airlines’ Phase 1 Route Expansion, a major milestone that officially brings our network coast-to-coast.

Phase 1 is built around what makes Wy’East fun to fly: a network that feels cohesive, purposeful, and easy to jump into. Whether you prefer quick regional hops, hub-building, or longer legs that feel like true line flying you can always find something in our network.

Our Phase 1 Operating Structure

With this expansion, Wy’East is centered on four primary hubs, supported by two focus bases that deepen regional coverage and add variety beyond the main network.

Phase 1 route network for Wy'East Virtual Airlines

Primary Hubs
  • Portland (KPDX): our flagship home in the Pacific Northwest

  • San Diego (KSAN): our West Coast gateway and leisure powerhouse

  • Denver (KDEN): our Mountain West connector and network bridge

  • Philadelphia (KPHL): our East Coast anchor for coast-to-coast flying

Focus Bases
  • Boise (KBOI): high frequency regional flying and a strong community base

  • Spokane (KGEG): Inland Northwest coverage and a launch point for scenic routes

What Phase 1 Unlocks

Phase 1 isn’t just “more routes”. It’s a bigger, more flexible Wy’East experience:

  • Coast-to-coast connectivity anchored by our hub structure

  • A stronger mix of short, medium, and long-haul flying across the network

  • Expanded access to leisure markets, including Hawaiian and Caribbean flying

  • More variety with Canadian routes added to the map

  • More opportunities for long-range operations with expanded Europe service

  • Better “pick-and-go” flexibility with more ways to route through (or around) the hubs

  • More VATSIM friendly flying: Coast-to-coast coverage means more chances to line up with live ATC. Pick routes that match where coverage is active and fly the network when it’s busiest!

Looking Ahead: Phase 2 (A220-300)

Phase 2 is planned around the future addition of the A220-300, which will unlock even more point-to-point flying and unique market connectivity across the network. While we’re excited for that next step, we don’t have an ETA yet due to development timing and recent delays. As soon as we have a reliable window, we’ll share the Phase 2 rollout plan (fleet + routes).

Ready to Fly

The updated route network is live now! Jump in, pick a hub, and start exploring. If you’re new to Wy’East, Phase 1 is the perfect time to join the community and build your logbook.
