Pilot Handbook

Wy'East operations are structured but flexible. These are the standards every official flight follows, from booking to PIREP.

01Callsign and Airline Identity

ICAOIATACALLSIGNSPOKEN
WYEWYWY'EAST"why-east"

Use the WYE callsign on VATSIM and IVAO. Flights booked under WYE also work with BeyondATC for offline flying.

02ACARS and Flight Tracking

All official Wy'East flights are tracked through FlightLinq ACARS from pushback to shutdown. FlightLinq handles automated PIREP submission, live flight monitoring, and block time logging.

Only flights logged through FlightLinq count toward pilot statistics and progression.

There is no economy system. Flights are not graded on profitability; the focus is on logbook progression and immersion.

03Booking and Scheduling

Fly any published route at any time. No staff dispatch approval is needed, and routes can be repeated.

RULESTANDARD
Book before departureRequired, through FlightLinq
Time to fly a booking8 hours, then released as abandoned and flagged
Abandoned bookings5 in a calendar month is an operational violation and may require staff review

04PIREP Review and Auto-Approval

A PIREP is approved automatically when it meets every standard below.

CHECKLIMIT
Landing rateNo harder than 600 fpm
PIREP scoreAt least 75%
Total pause time90 minutes or less
Simulation rate4x or less, offline only

Flights outside these limits go to manual review. Review is there for oversight and clarification, not discipline.

05Pilot Performance Metrics

FlightLinq gives you post-flight data on your landing and overall flight quality. Use it for self-review and to track improvement over time. It is not a pass/fail test.

06Weather, Alternates and Diversions

Real-world weather is recommended but not required. Plan adequate fuel reserves and file alternates when conditions warrant.

Diversions to planned alternates are allowed. Document them in your FlightLinq PIREP.

08Aircraft Access

Every pilot has full fleet access from day one. There are no rank restrictions.

Flexible model substitution is allowed when needed, as long as the substitute is the same class: regional, narrowbody, or widebody. Wy'East-branded aircraft are preferred whenever possible.

09Ranks and Progression

Ranks recognize experience and participation. There are no minimum monthly flight or hour requirements, and ranks never restrict aircraft access.
